IDENTITY
What is it?
How do we define it?
Is it what our name is?
Who are parents are?
Who we are?
Where we were born?
Where we were born?
Places we've been or seen?
How we act in certain situations?
How we act in certain situations?
Relationships we've made or had?
What we wear and how we wear it?
The answers to all of these questions provide plausible explanations for what defines the concept of "identity". Throughout this website, you can explore five different facets of what I think defines someone's identity. I will be using examples from films that we've watched in class to illustrate how each of these concepts support the idea that identity can be defined in a variety of different ways, and that what defines one's identity is truly in the eyes of the beholder.
The facets of identity that I will be exploring include:
- Experiences
- Clothing
- Relationships
- Location
- Possessions
